With a love of all things natural and rustic, Sarah and Steve dwell in the backwoods of rural Virginia. A wood burning stove adorns their living room and provides the warmth for guests arriving a few days early to help transport, set up, and teardown DIY must-have’s. Amongst the goodies are a handmade Photo Booth backdrop, peach preserves Sarah and Steve made for favors, chalk boards, corn hole, a wheelbarrow filled with ice for the drinks. Too numerous to list are hundreds of other purposeful details that Sarah and Steve spent months dreaming, collecting and building, anticipating their special purpose throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
After a heartfelt expression of vows under a giant old tree and chilly blue skies, guests bounced merrily on a hayride along the dirt road, drinks in hand, to the old red barn perched a’top the hill overlooking rural Delaplane, VA. Drinks in a wheelbarrow, southern comfort foods, lawn games, and a heart stopping view awaited. It was a wedding day intermission, a cocktail hour from which no one wanted to leave. The reception itself was just down the road in town, an equally rustic spot (once inside) for dinner, laughter, tears, testimonials of the character of each Sarah and Steve and one hell of a dance party!
Thank you for looking!
