Jackie and Andy are travelers at heart and have been to dozens of countries together. I have a hunch that while corresponding leading up to their wedding many of Jackie’s emails to me were sent from different countries. When we got together two weeks before their wedding, I asked them if they’d been traveling. “Not really,” Jackie said, “Except the South of France, Ireland, England and Paris.” Jackie’s mom and I raised our eyebrows and laughed, and they chuckled “Well, maybe a little!”
Andy is from the UK, and Jackie from right here in the good ole USA, but as fate would have it, they met while traveling through Australia on separate trips. Andy is good-hearted, genuinely interested in those who surround him, and has a great sense of humor. Jackie is so sweet, imaginative, and wonderfully creative. Together, they’re adventurous and make each visibly happy! After Australia, they kept in touch and began meeting in other countries. They flew to spend time with each other while staying as long as their Visas would allow. No amount of miles could keep them apart.
As one can imagine, Andy and Jackie have picked up quite a few friends from other countries. The wedding day was a melting pot of sorts and a beautiful opportunity for friends from all over the world to be gather and be merry! It is a true testament to their joyful and agreeable character when friends from as far New Zealand (literally half way around the world) came to celebrate. And celebrate they did! My favorite part of the evening was the dance-off between the USA and the rest of the world! The dance floor was the perfect platform for the big personalities to show off! On a small dance floor under a gigantic tent everyone let loose. Bare feet, shoes, pants, and dresses became muddied, Jackie’s once pristine white gown now had a dirt ring around the bottom. Nevertheless, excited hands reached for air guitars, and fists pounded the air until the very last chord rang!
